Robelle Domain’s Orion Lagoon wins AILA QLD Landscape Architecture Award

JMac Constructions’ Orion Lagoon has been awarded the Parks and Open Space award at the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) QLD Landscape Architects Awards.

The award was submitted by architect Vee Design and was announced at an awards night held in Brisbane in early June.

The Orion Lagoon provides the growing community of Springfield an aquatic leisure facility of a quality and scale usually only found in metropolitan areas and on tourism-focused waterfronts.

By connecting the Springfield Town Centre with the Robelle Domain Parklands, Orion Lagoon contributes to the burgeoning sense of Springfield’s local place identity.

The Lagoon is one of the biggest public lagoon style swimming pools in Australia and during construction JMac Constructions embraced BMD’s philosophy of ‘seeing things differently’ to deliver a fantastic project for Ipswich City Council and the local community.

As a state winner, the project is now eligible for a National Landscape Award which will be announced in October.
