JMac projects secure two wins at PLA QLD Awards of Excellence 2026

The Port Douglas Splash Park constructed for Douglas Shire Council and Greenheart Robina Parklands for City of Gold Coast won Playspace Award (project greater than $1 million) and Park of the Year respectively at the Parks and Leisure Australia (PLA) QLD Awards of Excellence.

JMac was proud to be the principal contractor in the delivery of the Port Douglas Splash park working closely with Atlantis Liquid Dynamics and Urbis on this award-winning design, converting a local park into a revitalised and interactive play area that increases local visitation and provides an engaging space for children to play.

The win marks the first time a splash park has won in this category for over a decade, as well as the first time it has been awarded to a project in Queensland. Congratulations to our partners on this significant achievement.

Greenheart Robina Parklands took out Park of the Year for its 22.5-hectare premier parkland, providing a recreational space for the community to connect and play. With features including an adventure playground, pedal park, sports fields, café, dog exercise area and more, the multi-purpose area was recognised for the delivery of high-quality infrastructure that caters for visitors of all ages.

JMac’s delivery of Firth Park Netball Courts for City of Gold Coast was also a finalist in the Community Facility of the Year category.

With five decades of experience delivering infrastructure across Queensland, these recognitions reflect our commitment to collaboration in delivering legacy defining projects that power the communities we operate in.
