JMac Building has been awarded Witton Barracks Park and Creative Community Hub revamp contract

JMac Building is proud to be awarded the Witton Barracks Park and Creative Community Hub project in Indooroopilly, west of the Brisbane CBD, Queensland.

Listed on the Queensland Heritage Register, the Witton Barracks had a vital role in military intelligence during World War II, with the three cell block buildings on the site of significant historical interest as they are the only purpose-built World War II interrogation buildings for Prisoners of War in Australia.

The project team will work with consultants and designers to retain the site’s heritage significance and deliver a creative community hub with the scope including refurbishing the three cell blocks for community use and the former HQ building for multi-use community spaces. They will further restore the Motor Transport Cover and revitalise the exercise yard, along with new pathways and landscaping, onsite parking for creative community hub users, and investigating, recording and protecting original secret listening devices in the cells.

At JMac, we have the ability to successfully construct and create unique landscapes of all shapes and forms. We remain committed to the consistent delivery of high quality services and look forward to further growing our relationship with the Brisbane City Council whilst delivering this jail-breaking revamp.
