About the project
JMac delivered landscaping works across North Shore, a master planned community in Burdell in Townsville's northern growth corridor. Working continuously for Stockland from stage one in 2008 until 2025, JMac completed more than 100 stages, delivering works across streetscapes, parks, estate works, stormwater treatment, display villages, acoustic barriers, wetlands and long-term maintenance.
Scope
Delivery of landscaping works across more than 100 stages of the master planned community
Delivery of 42 streetscapes, 18 major parks, eight minor parks and associated open space areas
Completion of 12 major estate works packages and 10 stormwater treatment areas
Delivery of eight display villages and four acoustic barriers
Delivery of hard and soft landscaping including streetscapes for residential stages, a dual carriage arterial road and the commercial precinct
Construction of entry statements, feature structures, pavements, paving, feature planting and landscape structures
Delivery of parklands including structures, footbridges and play equipment
Delivery of wetlands, bio-retention basins, revegetation works and long-term maintenance
Outcomes
- JMac worked with Stockland and key stakeholders to support staged delivery across the estate from 2008 to 2025.
- The team coordinated multiple stages and public open dates across parks, streetscapes, display villages and estate works.
- Community events coordinated during delivery helped establish positive relationships between the developer, client and local community.
- The works supported delivery of a major residential community with parks, playgrounds, schools, shopping, leisure and open space infrastructure.
- The project demonstrated JMac's capability to support long-term staged urban development programs across landscaping, public realm and maintenance works.
