Brisbane Airport, Qld
Brisbane Airport Corporation, $750,000, (August 2006 – November 2006)
The Precinct 8 project was part of a nine stage commercial and retail development of the area surrounding the Brisbane Airport, which is now Australia’s fastest growing airport. The ongoing improvements are part of the Brisbane Airport Corporation’s plan to turn the city’s airport into a city of its own. Located adjacent to an 18 hole golf course, it is designed to offer Airport staff, travellers and the local community new facilities and services, such as a medical centre, childcare centre, gym and shopping outlet. JMAC was engaged to undertake all landscaping for the Precinct 8 component of this project and to work closely with the project’s civil contractors, BMD Constructions. Work included tree planting, swale planting, swale embankment planting, construction of concrete footpaths, supply and installation of 200L, 100L and 45L trees, provision of over 11,000 140mm pots and 75mm tubes of shrubs and ground cover, turfing and grass seeding and provision of timber edging, bollards and kerbing.
